German duo Kerber/Siegemund to face Boulter/Watson in Olympic tennis
Round of 32 match set for July 30th at 1000 UTC
Germany's Angelique Kerber and Laura Siegemund will take on Katie Boulter and Heather Watson of Great Britain in the Round of 32 of the women's doubles event at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Kerber, a three-time Grand Slam singles champion, is making her third Olympic appearance. She won a silver medal in singles at the 2016 Rio Games.
Siegemund, a former world No. 28 in singles, is making her second Olympic appearance. She reached the quarterfinals of the women's doubles event at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Boulter and Watson are both making their Olympic debuts. Boulter is a former world No. 82 in singles, while Watson is a former world No. 59 in singles.
The match is scheduled to start at 1000 UTC on July 30th. The winner will face the winner of the match between the Czech Republic's Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova and the Netherlands' Demi Schuurs and Kiki Bertens in the quarterfinals.
